summer of 1964

So, not exactly 1964, but this photo totally reminds me of something that could have been taken then. The striped & polka dot swimsuits, children hanging out at the beach house, sunny, bright yellow paint... I can almost hear, The Doors playing on the radio when I look at this. Yes, I have a pretty avid imagination I guess for someone born in the 80's. I can continue dreaming of the 60's, though. It will never stop!

All in all, it was a great day, minus the house and half Baby {J} cried he had to go to the bathroom, but refused to use our friends. {the very idea Mom!} Anyone else have a child that will ONLY use their bathroom at home? Don't even ask about the though of a "public" restroom. Sends shivers down his spine All my other children wanted to see the bathroom EVERYWHERE we went, sometimes 3x or more just to check it out. I thought that was aggravating at the time, but at least I wasn't driving home to make pit stops for them. Ahh well, this too shall pass in time. Someday {J} will be holding his own wee baby, and I'll chuckle to myself reminiscing about his toddlerhood and these stories. Happy news, he finally gave in and peed-- at someone else's house. OMG-the very idea. I was a happy Mama, and hopefully, just hopefully we are taking baby steps towards other bathrooms out yonder.

 Happy Summer-ing.

Weekending

We had a really nice, calm, productive weekend here. The yard is finally ready for winter. Leaves are raked, plants tended too, little feet got lots of exercise, running & climbing. Mama caught up on some much needed rest with lots of knitting & relaxing--and fit in a photo-shoot. I've been knitting away, but most of the finished products can't be shown until after Christmas, as they are mostly gifts. I am working on a set of children's hats for a local homeless shelter. I'll share those when they are complete-two more to go.

Lots of new stuff will be added to the shop this week. Next Saturday [12-4pm] I will be at Sprout Soup Crafty Mama's Sale, with all my fun Kunklebaby merchandise.  There will be a silent raffle too. Come by and enter, you could win an Organic Kunklebaby bib.

New pic's

We spent a little time Sunday, re-shooting a few Kunklebbay items and photographing lots of new stuff for the first time. I'm really happy with how they came out and we had a lot of fun.... Well, I thought it was a lot of fun. My husband thought it to be a bit chaotic and said "let's just go", several times. The thing is with 4 kids, a park, boxes of merchandise and shoot props, it's bound to be chaotic, it's finding the little bits in between that can be used. I am so happy with those little bits.

The chaotic bits: a three year old who was determined he was at the park only to climb tree's, and only those on the other side of the field, a large dog who wanted to join the kids pictures, a cranky baby who wanted to know what in the world we were doing in the park.. with his rocking chair & pillow. A grumpy seven year old [who think's he's 15] who just wanted to either be in every picture, or alone, in the woods.

All in all I took 432 pictures. We got to run in the park for an hour. We missed the rain [as soon as I started our van, sprinkles started dancing across the windshield. {sigh, really?} Undeterred, I drove to the park anyways with hope. Finally, I was happy to realize there would be no more rain.

Best of all, I got this picture below. Which makes me smile with happiness! If you'd like to see more of the photo shoot and some new items, check out the shop: Kunklebaby

New Products

We spend the weekend soaking up some sunshine on Saturday. I've had a huge pile of new stuff here, just needing to be photographed. So we packed up the Kunklebaby inventory and headed to the park.

I love shooting outside, and it occurred to me that there are only a few more months that we will be able. Winters consist of me trying to get enough sunshine through the windows. Ohio winters are so dreary, it's hard to get any good pictures at all.

Lucky for us, summer is still here, it was a beautiful day and the models were in great spirits. A few romps through the grassy park, many roses smelled, and even a game of chase with a curious squirrel.
