Getting close: Craftin Outlaws

Getting close to Craftin Outlaws! I'm so excited for the show this year! This will be Kunklebaby's 4th year attending the show as a vendor. The vibe of the show is what really makes it fun!

I'm sewing away trying to get ready. I'll have some new quilt designs, new boo-boo packs [so fun & useful], and a whole batch of cool, new bib designs. I'm really excited about all the new pieces, along with some old favorites.
Stop by and shop early for the holiday's. I'll have our newest addition with me for much of the day. While your there, say hello & meet the little guy.

creative personality + pregnancy hormones=

I've had the sudden urge to make things the past few days...like, if I don't make something now, I will lose my mind. Haha-gotta love creative personality + pregnancy hormones!

I've been extra sleepy the past few weeks, and pregnant enough that I've took the time to actually rest rather than start 100 new projects. I have not made a single thing for a few weeks and it's caught up with me. I made a new set of pillows for the living room yesterday [I'll share this one's friend tomorrow].

I love the Heather Ross Underwater Sisters fabric. I have a few small pieces left in several of the colorways that I am hording. You can see the pink version in the quilt I posted yesterday and the blue in tomorrow's pic's. It's just so dreamy and fun. The fabric is extra soft and I love the texture. Big on texture here!

I've been working on some fun embroidered pieces also. Something relaxing to do, while I sit on the couch and "rest". I'll share those next week.

WIP

I am desperately trying to get this scarf completed before the warm weather arrives. It seems at most these days I get 2-3 rows finished before someone needs something, or calls me away from knitting. Busy, busy these days. I love this wool yarn though! It's so soft and the colors are yummy. My two favorites, blue & green.

Worst case scenario, I'll have a lovely scarf to wear next fall!

Hang Tags

I've had several requests for info lately about my hang tags and sewn in tags. I thoughts I'd share my approach with everyone.

1. I set up a file, business card sized. I added my logo twice to the card, equally spaced out. They can be horizontal or vertical depending on your design. They can be as simple or complex as you'd like, single or doubled sided depending on how good your skills are at making sure they line up correctly.

2. Upload and order file you created from a card company. Make sure to check your proof!

3. Your brand new box of business cards arrive at your home. Say "Woo-Hoo" at the mail box and rush into your house.

4. Take a paper cutter and cut those pretty new tags in half.

5. Hole punch the ends. [I use a TINY hole punch purchased from a craft store]

6. Attach to your fine, handcrafted item and your done!

I attach mine to my items with the plastic tags that big box stores use. It keeps them secure and I like the professional look. You could also use yarn, twine, cool frayed & textured fabric, chord--anything you'd like!

Moo Cards

My new Moo cards arrived late last week-I LOVE them! Moo was offering a free order of their business cards. Total cost was about $6 for shipping.

The cards did have a strip of advertising for moo on the side. I designed the cards so that I could cut them off
[I'll add the strips to my next round of swag bags, as they each have a 15% off coupon]

I will be using the cards as tags for my quilts and sweater balls. Some of the other images will become bookmarks. I love that they showcase my work. I always keep a few in my purse, in case anyone asks what I do. I have regular business cards that are great to pass out, but I like having the option to actually "show" what I do, not just tell someone.

For those of you with kids, or pet babies, moo cards also make great magnets! The thick paper helps them hold up well and look expensive. They make quick & easy gifts to mail to the grandparents. I buy sheets of magnet paper from the craft store. Place the cards over the sticky side, cut out and place on your fridge, or pop in the mail to someone you love.

Egyptian Royalty!

{D} is really into zombies, vampires..and Mummies! He's been asking to go to the latest exhibit at the art museum.

We have been so busy that we just didn't have time to fit it in. I was so excited we made it for the last weekend.

At the very end, they have a room filled with clothing, crowns and head pieces that all showcase the clothing of the emperors and queens. The kids were thrilled to dress up. I snapped a few quick photo's in their new roles. {M} said ALL day long, I'm and Egyptian Princess-that's so cool!

It was fun and the pieces they had were really interesting.

Shop Update Coming

Check back starting Monday the 18th, and throughout the week, for new goodies to be added to the Kunklebaby store. The shop will be closed through the weekend, as I will be selling at Eco-Chic. So if your local, come on down, say hello, and check out the new stuff in person!
