Fifteen Years
This weeks marks fifteen years together with my husband, and seven married. That's A LONG time! I met him when I was 15, so I have known him an equal time, as not known him. Next year, I'll have spent more of my life with him than without. {15 years with, 15 years without. crazy}
So much has changed for us in those fifteen years. When we met, we were just kids-high school sweethearts, naive and ready to take on the world together! I kinda feel like I grew up with Mike. All the important things I've gone through have been with him.We met in high school, spent our college years together, started having babies, bought a house, and now we spend our time making our house a home.
There have been lots of ups & downs. Like, when we spent 2 months eating toast in college. Or,when I was raising two little one's at home, and he worked 80+ hour weeks. Only home long enough to catch a little sleep & kiss us before heading back to work. We were broke college kids together, without a car and living in crappy campus apartments with hand me down everything, and we thought we were living the life!. I look back of those days with such a sense of love & respect. We didn't have much, but we've always had each other, and that's what matters.
There have been so many great moments for us too. The day I graduated and thought, this is it. Our life together can start now. I'll never forget becoming a mother, our very first baby & looking over at his proud, smiling face. The moment he became not just a boy, but a father. A father to OUR child. The day we purchased our home together, all giggly, excited and scared--feeling like we were officially grown ups now {which is really quite silly because we already had one child, and another one cooking}.
Most of all I enjoy the things that happen every year- Christmas morning, pumpkin picking at the patch, watching him rock my babies to sleep, the way he always tries to get out of helping plant the garden, then digs every single hole because I do it the "foolish" way. I love him quirks & all!
I can't wait to see what the next fifteen years brings for us!

ANOTHER Wedding
Wedding plans were all scheduled with their Nani[grandmother]. Everyone knew what to wear and whom to marry. {L} was drafted as the "ringbear".
Nani arrived for the wedding with a wonderful surprise-cake and flowers!! The kids were SO excited. Pretty pink & white flowers and a cake to match.
Sadly my camera battery died, just as the ringbear was walking down the aisle. It was a fun time and we got to eat yummy cake at the end. I think {D} is starting to come around to this whole wedding thing. He told me he married the cat last week-haha. That wedding went sans cake.

Once Upon A Time...
The convincing part was not an easy task, and many days would pass between the time she finally got someone to agree.
Finally the groom broke down and said, yes. Yes, I will play wedding with you for 10 minutes! The problem now was a veil, for the perfect pretty princess, bride needs the very most perfect pretty bride veil ever!
This one is too long says the sad girl.
This one is too short!

THE tie
Well....the idea lasted about 5 minutes, until {D} decided he wanted a new tie-that mama MADE! He was so excited and had already looked through my fabric stash and selected a fabric. Any other time I would have been over joyed that he wanted something handmade over purchased-normally elated! I was just so behind with everything, and I've never made a tie before.
So I ended up staying up until 3am the night before we needed to leave working on last minute gifts we were taking and THE tie.
I hung it from his door knob when I was done and had a thrilled little boy in my room at 7am, requesting a lesson in tying a tie. A tired mama, happily obliged! He told anyone who would listen at the wedding, how his mama made his awesome new tie.

Young Love
{M} was the flower girl and could not have been happier[although I think she was under the impression that it was HER wedding]. She asked for several days before the wedding to wear her "wedding dress". She walked with a smile and did a wonderful job throughout the day.
To the happy couple and everyone in love out there-Congratulations! We love you both and wish you many years of happiness...and lots of babies. [haha] :D
I'm so proud of the man my cousin has become. Even now I still think of him as my little cousin, dancing with me at my grandmother's house in preparation for another family wedding, long ago, or playing with his he-man action figures in the backyard. He's grown into such a caring, strong and happy adult!
