I WON!

I'm the kind of person who never wins...anything. As a child, I entered contests, already planning what I'm going to do with my prize, as I wrote my name. Each time I was SURE this would be the time. This time, I would finally win...

After 28 years of not winning, I've just gotten used to it. It doesn't really bother me anymore, I still enter contest and blog giveaways, but I think less and less about the chance of actually winning over the years. I let the dreams of grandeur lie with my husband, who still thinks we are going to hit the lottery-every week.

Well, I am HAPPY to say, my losing streak is over. HAHA-Hurray! I won this super cool journal over on Cathe Holden's blog, Just Something I Made. It's a super cool journal and a great blog for anyone creative or crafty! The journals are made with repurposed book covers and pages. Check out some other cool books at the Ex Libris Anonymous site.

Check it out! Meanwhile I will be writing in my new book. Thanks to Cathe & Ex Libris Anonymous-you guys rock! :D

Corners of Our Home

A few of our favorite things.
::The kids have their very own special artwork. The skeleton pieces above were purchased by {D} with his own money. He wanted the one on the right because he said it was a family portrait-lol ::The snow white music box belonged to my grandmother :: Books

::Artwork pulled from an old book. It had beautiful images and a torn cover. Inexpensive and repurposed. ::One of my childhood dolls, much loved by my children. :: The boys mantle. Hand painted dolls of our family with friends. Also {D}'s painting from mama :: A rare sight at our house. Things actually hung where they belong

A small peak into my studio

With the studio starting to come together, I'd thought I'd share a glimmer of what's happening inside the Kunklebaby space. I've been working on some colorful new blankets. [I'll debut a bunch of new stuff at the Westerville show next month]

My curtains and a print from Art and Ghosts. I am SO in love with this artist. I have two of her pieces in my studio. Her work is beautiful, very detailed with a dream like quality.

New fabric covered bulletin board.

Quilt pieces--these two are some of my most favorite work so far.

Meow-kitties getting ready for the show. I'll have a whole litter waiting to be adopted at the show. Although if these two don't find new homes, my kids have called dibs already. I found that awesome glass jar at a yard sale for $1! Score!

Buttons and thread. That doll was mine when I was a wee one. It's from either Mexico or El Salvador [I don't remember]. It's cool and I love that I still have it.

My dress form and a print from YumiYumi- another Columbus artist. Her work is awesome and she is so nice too! I got to meet her at Tiny Canary last year.

Bits and pieces on another yard sale find. A Kromex serving tray-made in Cleveland, Ohio, my home town. It was only $2 and still had the cool, vintage box

Some books for inspirations and patterns.
Hope you like getting a peak at my work space. I spend so much time in here, I cannot wait until everything is done!
